MiB Jerseys Printed and Ready

Riz and I bravely went to Peninsula to collect the jerseys for you all. 23 pairs of Jerseys, shorts and socks. Just 2 guys.

The jerseys look really nice by the way. Class. Please collect them from me and Riz when you see us.

I paid for the jerseys first. Please pay the MiB fund to SK so he can reimburse you. He does not deserve to be running after you all and neither do I. I can understand if Shyam, Farhan and Munshi have not paid yet, but the rest please try to do so.

MiB FC Player Profile: Philbert

I know this has been long overdue, but the last time I wrote it for an MiB agent he left so I was pretty cautious in writing these profiles. But as they say, better late than never, here you go!

10. Philbert

Position on the Pitch: Out and out Striker.

Nicknames: Bert, The Spirit, Ka-ka (not the gifted footballer sorry)

Player he Tries to Emulate: Used to love Michael Owen.

Philbert has to be one of, if not the most outspoken members of MiB. Never shy to state his opinion or feelings, let’s just say MiB’s fearless number 10 has been in his fair share of controversies. But it is this very eccentric nature of Bert that makes him such an integral part of this unit called MiB, and once you come to know him better, you realize it is hard not to like this easy-going and fun-loving guy.

Bert has guts. There is no doubt about that. Having given more than his limbs on the football field, he even broke his nose playing for us, nothing has never stopped Bert from being true to himself. Who can forget the time he stood up on the chair at Rooban’s father’s UTES dinner with a thick white bandage on his nose, and screamed “YMCA” for the whole world to see. Bert was also one of the first members of MiB to get down on his knee and take the plunge of committing the rest of his life to his woman, Uma, and his proposal of walking along Orchard Road with a tagboard over his head might never be topped in MiB history. It is also testimony to the guy that he has been together with Uma for almost a decade now, through ups and downs, thick and thin. If MiB ever needed anyone to look towards in terms of persevering despite all odds, then Bert could very well be the man.

Although work commitments mean that Bert cannot join us for soccer every week, on the day he does play, he can score the most spectacular of goals as some interplay with Chandra has shown. Who can forget the Rotaract Cup in NUS in 2006 where once again he sacrificed so much, including his ass at one corner kick, to help the team lift its first trophy in a long time. Having been one of the earliest members to step out into the working field, and not to mention the various number of times he has gotten other members of MiB some sideline jobs, it is not easy for him to manage work and soccer, not to mention the responsibility of being a husband now. But we appreciate his help whenever he comes down and Bert has also been instrumental for introducing MiB to some players that have helped the team in our hour of need, Munshi, Farhan and Shyamwil just to name a few. Off the field these guys have also provided MiB a myriad of memories and if not for Bert, they would not have been possible in the first place.

We have shared so many laughs with Bert over the past 12-13 years that one cannot imagine what life would be like if not for him being around, introducing new things to us and telling us about his experiences, the banana split and husky incidents come to mind. Philbert indeed is one of the pillars that have made MiB what it is, and has often influenced our style of jokes and been the butt of them too. So Bert we salute you for always daring to lead the way for the rest of us to follow, whether it was showing Riz and Prak the ropes or finding the balls to propose and marry the love of your life. Cheers!

Breaking NEWS: MiB confirms jerseys for 2009-2012

MiB today miraculously reached a decision to end all transfer saga for the summer and finalize their jerseys for the next few years. Adidas has proudly decided to sponsor the 2-time Wong Kai Yuen winning team, albeit they are charging a small fee of $70 for 2 tops, 1 shorts and a pair of socks.

The press was out in full force as 3 MiB players, Harvey, Prak and MRJ were out to unveil and finalize the kit that will don the shoulders of classy players like Satheeishwaran and Senthil Maran. Here are the pics of the jerseys that have been decided..

Speaking exclusively to the MiB blog was Adidas spokesman, Mr Tri Strypes;

"Well we are proud to continue our long links with MiB FC. After a short flirt with Admiral, Adidas was the chosen wear of SJI's elite football team. They decided to go to Kappa for a while, but returned to their roots with the white and yellow Adidas and are now making their prodigal return back to being who they really are, the men in BLACK."

When asked if the black jerseys will absorb the 3pm and 5pm heat and spoil the fair and lovely complexions of the likes of Satheeish and Dinesh, Mr Strypes said:

"We have produced the latest climacool material for this jersey. It will keep MiB cool in rain, shine or no matter how hot Riz is."

There was a general feeling that a black and gold home kit would have really taken the breath away but Mr Strypes explained that too:

"Yes we seriously considered the black and gold. But we decided not to pursue that for a variety of reasons. Let me explain. One, the black and gold top might have meant black and gold shorts. This would not have matched the away top, a classy white based jersey. Two, black and gold is now Liverpool's new away kit, and that would have been too much for the Manchester United and Arsenal fans, not to mention the Aston Villa fan to take. Three, as we did not want to spoil the classiness of the kit, there was no XXL produced in black and gold, and the institutions that are MRJ and Prak need to be kitted out in the very best, and so black and white was the natural choice. Four, some MiB players (like Maran) are renowned for giving away their shorts to their adoring fans, and black and gold shorts are not easy to buy off the shelf which would mean the lack of uniformity again. Lastly, black and gold is a kuppeh color."

There you have it folks. The decisions have been made, jerseys are off to be printed. Very soon, you will also get to wear the comfort that is the new MiB FC home and away kit. Coming soon to a store near you...

URGENT!! MiB Jerseys..

Ok guys there has been a problem with our order. Apparently the jerseys we wanted has no more XXL. So people like Riz, Prak and Munshi might not be able to fit into them. Rajbir from Weston Corporation has now sent me 2 new designs, just arrived in shipment. I know it looks similar to previous designs but these are new, those who love adidas will know this from looking at the sleeves.


SO, price wise no change 70 for 2 tops, black shorts and black socks. Now the key decision time, do u guys like the design or not? If majority say no, then we will not go ahead with it. If most are fine, then we will.

Personally, I think the black is nice. White is so-so. But that's just me, I need to know what you think. So please let me know either on the tagboard ----> or in the COMMENTS below.
